Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover-Review!!

Hi All (: Chloe here once again,

Today I wanted to review the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover. I'm one of those girls that loves having her nails done, you know looking all bright, clean and modified. I just think hands aren't that great to look at so why not spritz them up a bit by making your nails look fab!!

The only thing that stops me ever actually doing my nails is, well, actually having to do them.  Firstly, I always seem to have some chipped varnish on that I actually need to remove before painting a new colour on. And this my friends is the moment I'm usually like "Oh well, guess I'll just wait til it chips off couldn't be going through that bother of taking it off!!" I'd just like to confirm that I am not extremely lazy, it's just so much effort to get the cotton pads, nail polish remover and actually sit there taking it off seeing as it usually takes ages!!

Well not no more it doesn't! I used to just use a normal nail polish remover and cottons pads and half way through taking off the polish the cotton pads would be ripping and I'd be already after spending about an hour doing it and still be only half way through!! But now I've found the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover and this ladies is a godsend. I've heard of it months ago but never actually got round to trying it out. So one day in my local boots I noticed it and said why not? It would save me a lot of hard work. So I bought it and I'm so glad I did.

It comes in a small, round, pink cylinder container with a screw on top. Inside the container is a grey sponge like material with a hole right in the center. The sponge material is soaked in nail polish remover. It says on the container that it only takes 1 second per nail. Now I'm sure if you have any bit of sense you wouldn't believe this either. It doesn't have the job done in 1 second but trust me it does in near or around 10 seconds. So you could have your nails completely clear in just over a minute. Can you believe I used to waste nearly an hour doing it before. It seems like madness. I know it seems like an exaggeration but seriously it used to take forever. So that's it no more cotton pads or tissue and nail polish remover you have it all in one small container and bonus, it's pink!! What more could you ask for? It costs 6.99euro. I know it seems pricier than cotton pads and a bottle of remover but the energy and work it saves you makes it all worth the price!! I hope you all try it out as I honestly found it amazing. I can definitely 100% say I will be repurchasing it.

Bye for now,
Love, Chloe xx

Hairdressing Competition!!

Hey (:
Chloe here, so as you may have gathered by the title I entered a hairdressing competition.

I am currently in my second year at college studying hairdressing and this is my last year ): And as the end of the college year is drawing near I decided why not end the year with a BANG! This same hairdressing competition has become an annual thing for the second year hairdressers in our college ( as the second years are only allowed to enter). There are many different categories in the competition such as cut and colour on a mannequin head, avante gaurde, upstyling, barbering, fantasy on a mannequin head and fantasy on a live model.

The category I entered was fantasy on a live model. So myself and my friend decided it would be fun to make a huge head piece for the comp and all we had to decide was what we would make! This proved harder than we thought though! This seemed to be such a struggle even though I had regarded this the easy part, boy was I wrong! So after long deliberation we thought why not do something fun and different, something that was never done before. WILMA FLINTSTONE!! Really? ha Was this the best we could come up with.. How original!! Ha NOT!!

After thinking long and hard about this we came to the conclusion that "Wilma" was not the right way to go, as it just seemed to fancy dress. Back to square one again. Eventually we thought why not do something simple and elegant instead of all these extravagant pieces other college mates were creating. We knew it would be a risk going for the more laid back, relaxed look, but we just thought it suited us better.

So taking into account all the time we had wasted just deciding what to make, we hadn't actually left a lot of time to make the piece. So after this came a lot of long days and nights, meeting at each others houses trying to bring our piece together. I know when you see a picture of our piece your first opinion may be it doesn't look like we put too much effort in or that it wasn't that hard to make!! Well you would be wrong let me tell you. We also being very naive thought that maybe the piece might not actually be that hard to make if we just concentrate and put the work in. Although we did manage to complete the piece and in perfect timing it wasn't an easy journey by any means. I'm not going to get into all the details of how we actually made it, I don't want to bore you but of course if you would like to know I will be sure to tell you (:

So here came the day, competition time!! Our category wasn't on until the end of the day so we had all day to watch the other groups, but I found it very hard to concentrate as the anxiety about actually getting the piece ready and showcasing it for all to see and of course the results, was setting in. At the end of the day this was my first competition I have ever entered so I didn't expect much from it only the experience. After the judges had seen all the pieces and went off to make their decision, each team was called one by one to the stage to get a medal and cert for participation.

Ok so this was it, the judges had arrived back with the results and we were about to find out the placings. The nerves were here and on full force by this stage. Now let me just say there were 23 pieces in this category and only 3 placings, so I did not by any means expect to place. So, in third place team #7 from Waterford College. I stood in shock!! That was my number he had called. The room was filled with silence awaiting the team to walk to the stage. As I shook in disbelief I slowly made my way to the stage. There I was greeted and received a bronze medal.

Two weeks on and I am still no doubt in shock! I know it was only third place I didn't win or anything but that in itself was such an achievement my very first hairdressing competition and I had placed third!! Seriously? I was amazed to say the least!! I was so over joyed. I plan on entering many more comps in the future but for right now I am ending on a high and just enjoying the placing I have received.

So I am going to leave you know with some photos of the comp!! Enjoy (:

Love,
