Lancome Hypnose Star- Review!

Howdy Ho Everybody, Chloe here!

Today I wanted to review the Lancome Hynose Star mascara, as I'm sure you all figured by the title of this post ha. Firstly, I would like to start by saying I in no way consider myself a beauty expert or beauty guru, I just found this mascara too good not to rave about.

When it comes to mascaras I always find myself a bit lost to be honest. I always seem to be unfortunate when trying to find a good mascara that actually (in the words of Ronseal) "Does exactly what it says on the tin". I am one of those unlucky few that are blessed with short eyelashes, so finding a good mascara seems like a vital necessity to me. Maybe I'm exaggerating a tad, but to me it really feels that way.

Throughout the years I've tried many different mascaras and I can never seem to find one that suits me just right, so I've always resorted to false lashes- They are a god send ladies, let me tell you! But of course applying false lashes everyday can be a bit of a drag, so this just didn't cut it for me. I was on a mission. I was going to find a mascara that would actually work. I was determined!

So one day while I was shopping with my sister-in-law, Laura, I asked her out of pure curiosity what mascara she used or could she recommend one for me. She then went on to tell me that she uses Lancome Hynose Star and she found it amazing. She also said that since she started using it she found the condition of her eyelashes had also improved. Now, like myself Laura is also a false lash fanatic, so if she honestly loved this mascara as much as she claimed I knew it must be AMAZING!

So off I went over to the Lancome counter and asked the lady for the mascara. As it was Christmas time, the mascara also came in a set with eye make-up remover and a pencil eyeliner. Bonus! It cost 26euro, I know this may seem pricey for a mascara as there are so many cheaper brands out there, but to be honest I didn't care I was willing to spend it if it was actually going to do the job well. Plus, it came with an eyeliner and eye make-up remover so I thought bargain!

Being completely honest, in my opinion, I think this mascara is the best mascara I have ever used and I have been using it religiously everyday since I bought it and I will definitely be repurchasing it again. So the mascara is black and when I say black I mean BLACK! which I love, I need a mascara that is nice and dark, after all I do want my lashes to stand out. It doesn't clump and has no fallout. It lengthens and thickens the lashes too, or at least gives that illusion. My lashes also seem to have improved in condition since using this. And lastly the packaging is also so adorable, it comes in a black mascara tube, thicker at the top and narrowing at the center and back out thicker at the end, an hourglass shape. Also at the bottom it is a dark purple color and covered in glitter. So pretty! So all in all I've finally found a mascara that works perfect for me and I 100% would recommend it to everyone, who like me seems to struggle with finding a mascara just right for them. I hope you all try it out as it really is an amazing product.

P.s Sorry for the bad quality photos, I had to use my iPad as my camera was acting up.

Lots of Love,
Chloe x

  1. I was wondering if you see a difference in the color as its described as "black diamond" on Sephora.

  2. I noticed that too, I'm not sure if you can buy different shades in this mascara as I just went straight in and asked for black.By the name you would expect "black diamond" to have grey or silvery tones through it but I can guarantee if it is the same colour that I have it is most definitely 100% jet black. There are no silvery or glittery tones through it, it is just a matte black shade. Hope that helps (: Chloe x
