Hi guys, Sarah here with a little review of the new craze that is CC Cream!! I was shopping in town with my mother and Harper 3 weeks ago and spotted this new formula of foundation and thought I d give it a try seeing as everyone went crazy for BB Cream and this was supposedly one better than that. I purchased it and couldn't wait to get home to try it.
The next morning I showered, primed my face & applied the CC Cream, first impressions were good. Even though there is only 3 colours to chose from the apricot had blended with my skin just fine. It has good coverage and being a girl who will ONLY buy mac studio sculpt foundation just for its coverage ability, I was impressed. I then applied my usual mac studio fix powder and finished the rest of my every day make up routine.
It stay on me all day long and never budged. I hadn't done much all that day, just a few jobs around my house and tending to my 11 month old daughter. I used it for the next few days and found no problems with it. It glided on and stayed on!! So, I decided I would use this new CC Cream as my "everyday foundation" and keep my mac for when I was going out and for special occasions.
I wore it going to work for the first time that week. As always it's went on perfectly, but just after a few minutes into work I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I was completely blotchy and yucky!!! I was horrified to say the least. I couldn't wait to get home to take it off as I felt so conscious about it being patchy and completely gone from jaw line, which made it look like I didn't blend it in!!!! The minute I got home I took it off.
This mishap I just put down to the fact I hadn't washed my makeup brushes in a while. So that gave me the kick up the back side that I needed to dedicate an hour to washing all of my brushes. Delighted that this was done and hoping I wouldn't have this problem again, I wore it the next day. The same thing happened. It started becoming blotchy and patched in places all over my face. I was so unimpressed. I went home, took my makeup off and threw the CC Cream into the bin!!!!!! I do not know what caused this to happen, maybe over time it made my skin oily and that made it become patchy and separated. I just never want to see the stuff ever again. I now have spots and my chin is so oily......
I am now back to my trusty mac foundation that will probably never change again. I don't know what gave me the urge to buy the CC Cream because I never buy makeup from pharmacies, just mac, benefit, urban decay, nars & bobbi brown. THIS will never happened again. I have learned my lesson and remember why I never bought these brands of makeup.
So overall, I wouldn't advise anyone with oily skin to purchase this, even though I have never suffered from oiliness, I do now and I am not happy with what it has done to my skin. By hey, these things happen and something's just don't suit every bodies skin. All I sacrificed really was one day in work without my mac foundation, looking more like a crazy woman who didnt blend in her makeup than anything else haha. X
